postgraduate courses and research programmes through an All-India entrance examination- 2012-2013
M.A. and M.Sc. (5year Integrated) Courses: (10 Semesters) (after +2 education) in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
PG courses (4/6 semesters)(after 10+2+3 education) in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Art History, Communication, Business Administration in Health Care and Hospital Management, Health psychology, Master of Computer Applications.
Adv. PG Diploma and P.G Diploma: (2 semesters) in Folk culture Studies, Mineral Exploration, Health Fitness and Life Style Management and Health Communication.
M.Tech. Programmes: (4 semesters) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology (CS/AI/IT), Computational Techniques, Integrated Circuit Technology, Bioinformatics and Mineral Exploration.
M.Phil. Programmes: (2 semesters) in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ph.D. Programmes: (2-5 years) in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Integrated M.Tech./ Ph.D. Materials Engineering, Nano Science and Technology
Integrated M.Sc./Ph.D. Biotechnology.
Reservation of seats: Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ Wards/ Dependants of defence personnel/ Kashmiri migrants/ Foreign Nationals/ NRls. Few seats are also provided to the nominees from some UT/ NE states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ ST/ PWD categories
Detailed information is given in the Prospectus-cum-Application Form 2012-13 which is available on the University's website. Printed copies are not available with the University for sale. Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31 st July 2012 are also eligible to apply.
How to apply:
Application for entrance examination for admission to various courses during 2012-2013 required to be
submitted in the prescribed form along with the Basic Data Form to be downloaded. A separate
application is required for each course.
Candidates are required to pay the prescribed entrance examination fees of Rs. 300/- in the case of General/OBC Candidates and Rs.125/- in the case of SC/ST/PWD candidates in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad, payable at State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad (Code 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378).
Foreign nationals having their qualifying degree from abroad are required to submit copies of all relevant certificates of their academic qualifications with English version of these certificates (if they are in a different language).
The candidates may submit their filled-in applications either by post addressed to the Deputy Registrar (Acad & Exams), University of Hyderabad Campus, Hyderabad 500 046 or in person at the Academic Section, in the office of the Controller of Examinations, University of Hyderabad Campus, Hyderabad.
The Entrance Examinations will be held at 35 centres, viz., Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Ananthapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Dimapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kadapa, Karimnagar, Kolkota, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nellore, Nizamabad, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Srikakulam, Srinagar, Tirupati, Vijayawada,Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Warangal. The candidates are required to indicate one of the Centres along with its code.
